500 g glaze (enough for about 20 doughnuts)

A doughnut just isn’t a doughnut until there’s something sweet on the outside. You could toss it in cinnamon sugar, but our super-versatile glaze can be used as both a frosting (a thick layer of goodness on the top) and, well, a glaze (a thin, almost crispy coating from top to bottom). At room temperature, it’s thick and ideal for a frosted doughnut, like those squishy, yeasted ones you find at Dunkin’ Donuts or Krispy Kreme. When kept warm in a double boiler, the glaze is perfect for a fully glazed doughnut like our Old-Fashioned. Mixing it up is easy. Want chocolate glaze? Add cocoa powder. How about something vanilla flavored? Just add extract.Point is, the way you dress up your doughnut is up to you. Start with this glaze, and add your own flair from there—however you like ’em, we’ve got you covered.
