These days, it seems like you can’t scroll the ’Gram without seeing someone wearing something that’s tie-dyed. With the recent resurgence, we realized it was past time to revive one of our favorite childhood summer camp pastimes. We love a vibrant, flavorful fruit-and-vegetable juice, but we don’t love leaving that pretty pulp in the compost pile. Enter: juice-pulp tie-dye. This is a fun and easy way to get a little crafty, put that colorful pulp to work, and make yourself something funky to wear! When it comes to natural tie-dye, you can’t just scatter some pulp on a shirt and call it a day. There’s a special trick to tie-dyeing with natural colors—a pre-treatment soak in soy milk. Called mordanting, this step helps the colors really “stick” to your shirt. Use a single leftover pulp for an analogous color scheme, or sprinkle multiple colors for fun and festive wear. We’ve included a few juice recipes below to inspire you—this activity is also a great way to use leftover pulp after making rainbow rice! 🌈WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
