When you wake up with a serious sweet tooth or need a stunning brunch dish that’ll blow your guests’ minds, chef Nicholas Gavin’s ultra-indulgent pancake is here to save the day and bring down the house—in a good way. Inspired by molten lava cakes and chocolate soufflés, Nick keeps it sweet but simple, so you’re not starting the day with an ultra-involved recipe and tons of dirty dishes.Nick shows you how to make this pancake from scratch in the video below. You can also adapt the recipe to be as chocolatey and rich as you’d like—forego the “lava” and omit the chocolate chunks to make slightly smaller and less indulgent pancakes that will still be decadent and delicious.
