There isn’t anything more British than the Sunday roast. A centerpiece “joint” served with Yorkshire puddings, crispy roast potatoes, and a few bites of veg, everything doused in a rich gravy … it’s a meal fit for the King.Like the full English breakfast and fish and chips, it’s hearty in the way of cold, Northern country cuisines, but then it’s also got all those odd-to-American-ears Britishisms, like the savory “pudding” and “delicious boiled vegetables.” The most challenging thing for non-British people about the meal is it’s hard to come by, unless you live near a pub that’s imported a bit of merry old England nearby. But don’t fret, poppet, we’ve got everything you need to pull off this incredible feast at home.
