When can I use the Breville+ or Sage+ Cooking app with my Joule Sous Vide?

Right now! You’ll be required to create an app account, as your previous Joule by ChefSteps login credentials will not carry over.

To ensure you keep your cook history, create your app account using the same email address you used in the Joule by ChefSteps app. (If you’re not sure what this email is, open the Joule app, click on the three lines in the upper left-hand corner, and then select “view profile.” Your email address should be displayed here.)

Will my cook history transfer over to the Breville+ or Sage+ Cooking app?

Yes, as long as you use the same email address when signing up for an app account.

Your Joule Sous Vide will no longer work with the Joule by ChefSteps app beginning March 2026. Our team has dedicated significant effort to enhancing the user experience based on your feedback, and we think you will appreciate the improvements.

I don’t own a Joule Sous Vide device, but I use the Joule by ChefSteps app for sous vide inspiration. Will I retain access to this content in the Breville+ or Sage+ Cooking app?

Yes. You can continue to access our stellar sous vide recipes and Cook Guides in the app, even if you do not own a Joule Sous Vide device.

Are there two versions of Joule Sous Vide?

Yes, we currently have two versions of the Joule Sous Vide: the Original Joule sous vide, launched in 2016, and Joule Turbo, released in 2023 in the U.S., Canada, and Australia, which can cook food in up to twice as fast as traditional sous vide". Click here to learn more about Joule Turbo.

Can I access Turbo recipes once I pair my Original Joule device in the new app?

No, you will not be able to access Turbo recipes. The original Joule lacks the required hardware and firmware updates to properly cook Turbo recipes.

I live outside the USA and Canada. Can I pair my Joule in the Breville+ Cooking app?

Joule support will expand in March 2026 to the following countries, so you’ll be able to continue using your sous vide. If you live in the U.S., Canada, or Australia, you’ll need to pair your Joule with the Breville+ Cooking app. If you live in the following countries, you’ll need to pair with the Sage+ Cooking app:

The app version you should be on is 1.68.0 or higher. If you’re not sure what version you’re on, open the new app, select the gear icon in the lower right hand corner and select about the app.

I already have the Breville+ Cooking app, do I need to do anything else to get my Joule Sous Vide paired?

To ensure successful pairing, please make sure you’re on the correct app version which is 1.68.0 or higher. If you’re not seeing the Joule Sous Vide come up when attempting to pair, please try manually refreshing the Breville+ Cooking app home screen:

Open the Breville+ Cooking app and on the home screen, try pulling it down two times. This will manually refresh the app and has helped with others who have experienced the same issue.
